This span was once an elegant reminder of New York's history of architectural innovation; the monumental concrete partition has crumbled into rubble and the steel-wire cables are splayed and uselessly hanging off the flanks of the suspension bridge. Although damaged, its views of lower Manhattan and other city landmarks remain spectacular. It's stroll is more-than a mile-long expanse, some gaping apertures throughout the concrete making this bridge rather treacherous.
